Travelers should be mindful of local customs when taking pictures in Kuwait. While taking photos of beautiful landscapes, modern architecture, and cultural landmarks is generally acceptable, there are some rules to follow to prevent any issues.

Firstly, it is completely forbidden to take pictures of government buildings, military installations, and facilities associated with the oil industry. Doing so might have dire legal repercussions. Respecting people's privacy is also essential, particularly while taking pictures of locals. It is customary to obtain consent before taking images of people, especially ladies, as this respects their privacy and is in line with local traditions.

It is normally acceptable to take pictures of the ambiance in public areas like markets or souks, but once again, be mindful of other people. When taking photos of religious locations, it is best to look for signs indicating photography restrictions or to inquire beforehand.

If you do take photos in public places, be discreet and avoid drawing attention to yourself. Avoid using flash photography, especially in crowded areas or at night. If a local asks you to stop taking photos, comply immediately and apologize immediately.
